Talk: Solutions to food insecurity
Abstract: Food security is about good food for all for today and tomorrow. In this keynote presentation, Dr Hawkes will provide a global overview of the global food security situation, the future outlook, and the systemic risks and challenges for food insecurity in both supply and demand. She will then turn to the question: what are the solutions? Taking a people-centred, systems approach, she will walk through the what - the portfolio of actions needed in agrifood and interlinked systems; and the how – the processes needed to ensure enactment and implementation of the necessary solutions. She will conclude with a summary of outstanding research needs.
