Romina Cavatassi

Romina Cavatassi is the lead Economist with the Research and Impact Assessment division of IFAD where she is in charge of leading the Impact Assessment team for generating evidence and corporate reporting of IFAD’s impact. She spent last year on loan to FAO with the Inclusive Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division where she contributed to the preparation of the “Status of Women in Agrifood Systems” and co-lead the preparation of “the Unjust Climate Report”. In 2021 she has led the preparation of the Rural Development Report on Food System Transformation for Rural Prosperity, IFAD flagship report. Prior to her current role she was the lead technical Specialist for Environment and Climate in the Environment and Climate division of IFAD. Before joining IFAD, Romina worked for FAO on issues related to natural resource economics and development. She holds a PhD in natural resources economics from Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands, an MSc in environmental assessment and evaluation from the London School of Economics in the UK and a master’s-level degree in economics from the University of Bologna, Italy.
